Spotrtradar has secured a long-term contract as the official technology and services provider for Taiwan’s Sports Lottery.

The nine-year deal will run until 2033 with the deal being appointed as part of a wider consortium making changes across the island’s industry.

The newly placed provider already has plans in place to roll out its Orako end-to-end sportsbook and player account management solution across 2,600 retail outlets in Taiwan.

This system will also be implemented for use online and on mobile channels to support their omnichannel approach.

The agreement being put forth by the Taiwan consortium will cover the delivery of equipment across all retail stores. This will include customised lottery terminals, printers and multimedia displays to provide live sports and betting information.

Sportradar has also established a team to work locally in Taipei to provide operational support.

The Consortium

The consortium that brought Sportsradar into the frame previously secured the Third Sports Lottery Licence from the Taiwan government’s Sports Administration in December 2022.

This deal included ADATA Technology as licence holder, Taiwan Sports Lottery Company as the operator along with China Trust Bank.

Big changes in sports betting

On this appointment, Sportsradar CEO Carsten Koerl stated:

“Our experience working with government-run lotteries around the world, coupled with our innovative technology and end-to-end Orako solution means Sportradar is well-placed to operate as part of a successful consortium for the Taiwan Sports Lottery.”

Koerl also explained that Sportsradar is comprehensively equipped to deliver on both the highest quality and the most consistent experience for Sports Lottery customers.

He emphasised how the approach will be of the highest standard throughout their outlets and online offerings.

Taiwan Sports Lottery Company president Ted Lin also stated that these movements are aimed at the highest impact, to redefine the sports betting experience, he added:

“With a proven track record of working with established lottery providers globally, we look forward to harnessing the synergies with Sportradar to transform the sports betting landscape in Taiwan.”
